Lucie-Marie Pouyfourcat is known for having been a member of the Société des Artistes Méridionaux, where she regularly exhibited portraits and landscapes from 1932.
The work we present today draws its effect from the strong contrast between the black figure placed on a white background, all in a very thick material. The pose in profile, without complacency of the model gives great strength to the image.
